Cable ONE recommends buying one of these DOCSIS 3.0 modems as they are upgrading their system in 2012 (although the DOCSIS 2.0 modems will work on most of their new plans, except their fastest plans):

All of these modems are high quality and have pretty much the same features, except of course those with routers built in. So don't worry too much about deciding which one to buy. Price should be the most important factor.

It has 8-channel downstream bonding and 4-channel upstream, twice the maximum download speed of the SB6121 (though the SB6121 is fast enough for almost all current internet plans.) Motorola is a big name in cable modems and you can't go wrong with any of their Surfboard modems. The Motorola SB6121 has the exact same specs as the SB6120 and is basically the updated, newer version of it, with a slightly smaller case. The new version of this modem is the SB6141, which has twice the maximum download speed of the SB6121. Supports IPv6 and IPv4 addressing. Works with Windows, Mac, or Linux computers.

The only reason we didn't give it five stars is because we're not a big fan of modem/router combos. Cable ONE Economy, Cable ONE Standard, Cable ONE Premium or Cable ONE Ultra Internet Service users, buy any of these DOCSIS 2.0 modems. If you think you'll be upgrading to Cable ONE's faster services in the future, buy a DOCSIS 3.0 modem above. We highly recommend buying a DOCSIS 3.0 modem in order to future-proof yourself as DOCSIS 2.0 modems are slowly phased out.
